The Color of the Forest

In The Color of the Forest, I propose a reflection on the permanence and transformation of nature through a precise material language.
Raw ceramic logs, dried and with burnt areas, rest on circular wooden supports upholstered in brightly colored velvet.
This wall installation articulates a dialogue between the fragility of the organic and the persistent vitality of color, configuring a landscape
suspended between ruin and regeneration. The use of ceramics—an ancestral material associated with both resistance and vulnerability—accentuates
the temporal dimension of the work, while the velvet lends a tactile sensuality that contrasts with the roughness of the logs. Likewise,
the use of color transports these log-remains into the language of art and painting.
The arrangement of the pieces invites an open interpretation of natural cycles, the imprint of destructive processes—both natural and those
caused by human civilization—and the resilient power of living matter.
